Paramount Skydance Set to Cut Nearly 2,000 US Jobs – Report

Paramount Skydance is scheduled to initiate mass layoffs beginning on 27 October, cutting approximately 2,000 American roles under a cost-cutting plan totaling $2bn led by new chief executive David Ellison.

The workforce reduction follow the union of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, finalized during August worth $8.4bn.

More international job cuts are anticipated, with the company intending to disclose all specifics in its third quarter earnings report on 10 November.

Earlier reports had indicated that Paramount was looking to eliminate between 2,000 to 3,000 roles by the beginning of next month.

Until December 2024, the organization had about 18,600 permanent and temporary staff plus 3,500 temporary project employees.

Paramount Skydance has not yet commented to a request for comment.
